I
discovered Banda Madga’s ‘’Yerakina’’ because of its illustrated cover
while I was digging for upcoming releases on early September.
‘’Yerakina’’ was a familiar traditional song around my area in Greece
and I was amazed when I heard ‘’Karotseris’’ * cover. These songs and
‘’Trata’’ – another traditional song by the insular Greece – among
Brazillian standards and Fransais like
‘’Doralise’’ and ‘’Petite Fleur’’ was a welcome surprice for my ears.
The balance between the tradition, the contemporary sound, jazz and
French folk is so subversive, meticulous, sofisticated and also sounds
