I discovered Banda Madga’s ‘’Yerakina’’ because of its illustrated cover while I was digging for upcoming releases on early September. ‘’Yerakina’’ was a familiar traditional song around my area in Greece and I was amazed when I heard ‘’Karotseris’’ * cover. These songs and ‘’Trata’’ – another traditional song by the insular Greece – among Brazillian standards and Fransais like ‘’Doralise’’ and ‘’Petite Fleur’’ was a welcome surprice for my ears. When the roots of Ethio jazz is just the beginning of their inspiration Akale 

Wube destination seems has no destination, it has only rest areas to stop, record and offered us rhythms and interpretations of traditional Ethiopian music like the ones we can hear on ‘’Soft’’. It’s hard or easy for musicians to travel on paths that others create or follow and it is like trap when they do it and they can’t add their own stamp. And Akale Wube can… On ‘’Sost’’ the sound moves to wider limits of jazz, African music and not only music. On ‘’Kidus A Cent-Dix’’ African cymbals and indie sound complete an internationl feel of Mulatu Astatqe creation and their cover on his ‘’Fikratchen’’ has a unique soundscape far away from the Original compotition, especially with Genet Asefa's vocals. The ticklish vocals of Genet Asefa's is killing me too on ‘’Alegntaye’’ which sounds so Mulatu. ‘’Sost’’ is more African, more Afro and when it is Afrobeat like on ‘’Spring No Come’’ is so Akale Wube. The Global Witness is out for charity and the involved artists are offering deep – as always by the Danish record label – and sofisticated house tracks from and to a lot of different directions. All tracks have their magic and unique connection with other style of music and the classic now - classy also – label’s sound. Jonbjorn – Hadegissteinn will be loved from Balearic disco lovers, Dave Marian & Deephoniq collaboration from the ones who like the deep house sound closer to the abyss, Distortion Inc. ‘’These Spirits’’ by the all of these who are close to the sound of tomorrow of bass and chillwave fro example.
