Da Lata’s comeback is real masterpriece. The first feeling that I get is that I’m listening an analogue, ‘’natural’’, organic or LIVE recording, like been in front of their stage. The second is that I’m back in time when we used to have only vinyl releases, a complete album just in 40 minutes. The diversity of ‘’Fabiola’’ seems to be beyond borders, with Rio De Janeiro as the starting point Patrick Forge and Chris Frank are offering as a piece of a global soundscape, with their Brazillian heart and soul is tranferingour minds all over the world. Favela funk mixed with raw funk from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, Afrobeat meets melodies from Capo Verde and salted grooves meets smoked unban clubs. A plurality of musician and vocalist make this thing. ‘’Canbara 41’’ is opening the album and it is like watching the August’s sunsets on every corner in the neighborhoods of the world. The pure Brazillian blood is lowing on ‘’Deixa’’ ‘’The Shore’’, ‘’Unknown’’ and album’s teaser first single ‘’Um Amor A Mais’’. Their afro megaton bombs ‘’Ronco Da Cuica’’ (Their Kyoto Jazz Massive tribute) and ‘’This Is Not Your Job’’ (NYJ here) are also included on the album too… I’m texting too much but my words are really too little for Da Lata’s new album… In the end, ‘’Fabiola’’ is not an album only for group lovers, it is an album to discover the magic of this music scene, an album that revitalizes the scene… - Dj Nova, Nova Planet Radio Show
