TMDG077 Dogo Argentino - Diskonautik (Timewarp/GR)

The opening ‘’2 Minutes 2 Midnight’’ is surely the highlight of the album. Amazing neo disco groove with funky keys and AOR rock guitar that takes me back in eighties. ‘’Sences’’ funky sound keep it on the same good level. Later when the funky breakbeats started the album sound boring. Funky house ‘’Mr Groove’’ with the ace bassline and dirty guitar riff reshapes the album on the right direction but the cheesy male vocals reminds the boring Boney M phlishophy. ‘’Tell Me’’ is my second choice of the album, this ABC and Kid Kreole like funky early eighties weapon blow up my mind before ‘’Step On’’ will come and make you really sweat. The last track ‘’Yellow, Black & White’’ include a nice intro but its mix of ska dub and breakbeats didn’t touch me. - DJ Nova, Nova Planet Radio Show
