I feel that Will Holland projects Quantic & His Combo Barbaro and Soul Orchestra don’t need remixes. This analogue live recordings are some of the best that we can hear those days. On the other hand, remixes are important. And the EP is another example of the real art of remixing… Daedelus delivers the letter and reshape one of my fave Quantic & His Combo Barbaro album tracks ‘’Undelivered Letter’’ on deep soft old school breakbeat monster that based mostly on the piano strings of the original track. ‘’Mas Pan’’ another one best of th best of Quantic & His Combo Barbaro get great remix treatment by Dj Day. Cool lazy funk beats meeting naked the horns and the guitars of the track and the result is my on the EP. J-Boogie doin’ his hip hop dub stuff on first single ‘Un Canto A Mi Tierra’’, love the use of echo on the vocals. DJN Project after many releases in many labels the landing of their own Newav Media label is big news for the soulful house scene. Their collaboration with Vincent Kwok ‘’Nowhere To Go’’, their release ‘’Take You Away’’ on Vega Records and their recent release but already played from last summer in my radio show ‘’Lead The Way’’ are my some of my fave release of this kind of house release the last years. Their ‘’Get Closer’’ sounds great like them. First of all collaboration with two of the biggest vocalist of the scene Arnold Jarvis and Stephanie Cooke born a great duet between a male and female, to mention something about them is not nessecary, both are so well known. Original and the remixes, except Jaun Sanchez one that sound so euro or tech than deep and soulful, are excellent and hard to choose the best between them. Bradford James and Trinidadian Deep on their collaboration on Seedadian Deep Mix offer a pure deep tribal Ron Trentesque Chicago sound. I get rare promos like this. The release is a soulful dynamite especial Chuck Love and Jonny Montana and Craig Stewart Remixes but my thing here is deep ill castle remix. Jazzy mood, the piano and the guitar riff make it wonderful, the only thing that didn’t like is the claps. When you got a release by Jeven in your hands, you must be sure that you will hear the best live bassline around. ‘’Following The System’’ or better following the sun system got a deep one and ‘’Velvet Eyes’’, the extra track of the release, a bass lesson for everyone. ‘’Following The System’’ is a great intoduction into the Blue Label Series of the label. Driven deep tech sound with the cosmic synths and rolling female vocals of the original got great atmosfear. Da Funk's Punto Rojo Remix pushes the original on the prime time of the club night, strictly only for after hours this remix can burn a whole building square, trancy, acid sometimes and deeper that surely you will love to use it while you’re driving. Pete Dafeet on the other hand going deeper too but highlights Jevne’s bassline a creating a more elegant and dub version of the original. At last ‘’Velvet Eyes’’ is not a ‘’usual’’ house’’ track, better can say that is a live house jamming.
