Christos Kedras was born and grew up in Greece next to the majestic waters of the Aegean Sea before moving to Los Angeles. As a DJ he has earned acclaim for his eclectic DJ sets of house, bossa nova, nu jazz, and afrolatin. Christos has participated in a number of DJ/music nights, spinning alongside Jay-J, Claude Monnet, John Beltran, Random Soul, Q-burns, Graham Sahara, Raul Campos, and for the likes of Sting, the Coalition of LA Designers, the Kabbalah, and numerous events. He also showcases his music picks at the Beat Philosophy radio hour that airs on FM & internet stations globally. In the studio, Christos has collaborated with world-class musicians like Justo Almario, Marconi de Morais, Adam Zimmon, Grecco Buratto, D Booker, and Tiago D'Errico. His production work has earned him kudos from heavyweights like Pete Tong, Ian Pooley, Nick Warren, Andy Ward, Tony Humphries, Spen, Richard Earnshaw, Mr. V, Meme, and has aired on numerous radios including BBC Radio 1, Ministry of Sound, Hed Kandi, KCRW, Radio FG, and Ibiza Global Radio. Matthias Voght’s [re:jazz] project is one of my fave modern jazz ones and the reason to discover Frankfurt’s finest label Infacom. A new [re:jazz] remixed album was in my personal want list after their ‘’Point Of Veiw’’ album back in 2004. Most of the tracks/remixes here are from their latest 2008 album ‘’Nipponized’’, few from their previous album plus one new song, ‘’Star Chasers’’ that taken from last year’s 4 Hero’s ‘’Extensions’’ album, a an album full of 4 Hero tracks covered by other after their requests. Infracom’s latest super stars Mop Mop, Against Savages Y Suefo and Radio Utopia remixed ‘’Luv Connection’’ – Top mid-tempo vibraphon:ed mix by Andrea Bennini, ‘’ Skin Against Skin’’ and ‘’You’ll See’’ both of them in two life is beautiful mixes. ‘’Written In The Stars’’ by alter ego of Matthias Voght, Motorcitysoul excisted also here like Swell Session’s remake on Truby Trio’s classic from the same period ‘’Donaueschingen’’. Bruno Howart with his projects Metropolitan Jazz Affair & Dynamics, already released in the past, remixes are including also on ‘’People Hold On’’ and ‘’Twiggy Twiggy’’, the last one in [re:jazz] original version included in my collaboration compilation with Cool D:Vision ‘’Tokyo Fashion District’’. The leftfield mix, can’t say that is house, jazz, techno or anything else, by Shur-I-Kan on ‘’MG4BB’’ is a big suprice and innovating sound and Jazz & Milk’s Dusty remix on jazztronik covered ‘’Rita’’ is so gorgeous rework by him, something like a real jazz turns to be funk and drum ’n’ bass that is flirting with broken beat. At last the balearic spirit of Kiko Navvaro included here twice with his Main and Reprise Mixes and Alice Russel as always voice on this emotional classic. Those italians guys knows how to score, their debut Drumpoet Community ‘’Yes We Are’’, better yes they are hot new name of the moment. Original sounds too much close to the old school sound that recently Drumpoet Community following so faithfully. Det-Riot mix offers a more nowdays beat philosphophy with extra drum elements and soft percussion as well and I.M.F.’s excellent ‘’Deep Mix’’ by themselves on title track, with more limited crowd sound appearance, vocal breakdown among weird plugged synths and over their deep beats are creating a different atmosfear. Extra track ‘’Promiced Land’’ with Martin Luther King’s speech and its heavier beats level sounds more closer to chicago than the other and suprice me a little bit cos is not using Obama speech. Jazz Chronicles - Remixes (Futuristica/UK)

Time by time, release by release Simon’s S Futuristica Music offers more and more quality and unique works. Upcoming Jazz Chrolincles digital EP except the remixes including two great unreleased tracks. ‘’Bologna’’, one of my fave jazz tracks from last year, is receiving a deep & jazzy house treatment, better ‘’Enchantment’’ as Emanative is calling his mix and that is a really big suprice, to hear a space deep house from Nick Woodmansey. K15 did a nice aesthetic rework on ‘’Done It’’, another fave track from Jazz Chronicles album that played it a lot in my show. ‘’See Sides’’ or better sea sides the first unreleased track is a sweet with soft piano strings and nostalgic flute & vibraphone soundtrack but with more heavy beats in its rotation. ‘’Back To Bolognia’’ is another BIG suprice, a deep house jazzwork with a live drumbeats and gentle trumpet. Rise gave their own ‘’tabu’’ african touch on ‘’Bologna’’ with their live drum instrumentation and As Valet offered a nice game between nature, beats and samplers on original and debut single of Jazz Chronicles two years ago, ‘’One For Joe’’. Simply FUTURISTIC !!!
